WHAT THE HECK IS SHREDFEST?!

Shredfest started life as kid’s first mountain bike gathering, created by Bristol Shredders. It was made to get more kids out on the trails, having fun and shredding on two wheels.

For 2026, Shredfest has teamed up with Ride Bristol and grown up, just a little. Same goal, to get more people out shredding. But now open to kids and grown-ups alike.

All to raise money for two great causes: Ride Bristol, building the future of Bristol’s MTB trails and Bristol Shredders, who are getting kids into mountain biking from an early age.

Shredfest is built to be welcoming, inclusive and properly good fun, mixing playful, low-pressure activities with a few chances to push yourself if that’s your thing. Shredfest is all about taking part your way. Expect a bit of friendly competition, a bit of silliness, and a lot of people having a very good time on bikes.

Underneath the fun, there’s a bigger purpose. Shredfest is about opening up mountain biking to more people and strengthening Bristol’s riding community for the long term. The event will raise funds for Ride Bristol’s inclusive cycling work, as well as Bristol Shredders, helping more young people and underrepresented riders get into mountain biking.

It’s a celebration of what already exists, and an open invitation for more people to join in.

INCLUDES:

  • The Shredfest Classic A 35KM-ish old school MTB adventure around some of Bristol’s classic routes. (Includes an optional All Terre women’s ride).
  • The Triple Crown – A 3 stage mash-up not-a-race that’s more about fun than winning, on Ashton Court’s trails.
  • Kid’s Shredquest Challenge – A mini MTB adventure race for kids, using the MapRun app and paper maps. Lots of prizes to win. Price is per family, feel free to bring everyone along!
  • Intro to MTB Beginner’s Ride – A mountain bike ride for first-timers, with bike hire from Pedal Progression included.
  • Kid’s Mini Trail Dig – An intro to trail maintenance for kids, from volunteers at Ride Bristol. A chance for young ‘uns to see what a Ride Bristol dig day is all about!

All served alongside tasty food and drinks from Will Danter’s Coffee House and Food Truck and a licensed bar with beer kindly supplied by Left Handed Giant.

And don’t miss a whole heap of other fun stuff, including demo bikes, Avon and Somerset Police Bike Marking, MTB Clothing Jumble Sale and more!
